HelMSIC members from Thessaloniki, Ioannina, Athens and Heraklion represented the medical students of Greece at the 74th IFMSA General Assembly.
More specifically, Maria Tzina, Kasmina Paschopoulou, Athena Sarra, Eleftheria Loumaki, Marianina Goutzouri and Dimitralena Nakou participated in the Greek HelMSIC delegation and through discussions, stances and resolutions they made important decisions for the future of the global federation of medical students…

Election of the new IFMSA leadership
In other words, as a Greek delegation, we evaluated the experience and plans of action of the candidates, voting for the members of the new IFMSA Team of Officials, including Anna Liakopoulou, a student in Ioannina, who was elected as Liaison Officer for Medical Science and Research Issues.
Election of organizations to organize the next General Assemblies
More specifically, the organization of the March Meeting 2026, the European Regional Meeting 2026 and the August Meeting 2026 was undertaken by the organizations of Denmark, the Czech Republic and Kazakhstan respectively.
Adoption of policies
In order to advocate and bring about changes in the field of medical education and health, IFMSA has Policy Documents. At this General Assembly we adopted IFMSA’s positions on the following issues: Digital Transformation of Healthcare, Primary Healthcare, One Health, Health and Rights of the LGBTQIA+ Community, Reproductive Health and Rights, Addiction, Alcohol Consumption, Tobacco’s Influence on Health, Planet, and Decision-Making, Neglected Tropical Diseases, Food for Health and Sustainability, Human Rights Education, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Vaccination and Global Health Education.
Welcoming new member organizations
In order to represent every medical student, IFMSA members can become organizations from all over the world. In this General Assembly, in particular, we welcomed organizations from Brunei and Syria.
Changes to the Internal Regulations
Significant changes were also made to the administrative documents of IFMSA in order to operate more smoothly, efficiently, and inclusively towards all its members.
