HelMSIC – Hellenic Medical Students’ International Committee is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit, and non-partisan association. Founded in 1958 by medical students, it currently consists of 7 Local Committees, one in each city with a medical school.

Our Objectives
- Promote friendship, collegiality, and intercultural cooperation among medical students internationally
- Contribute to the education and awareness of medical students on health issues affecting society
- Mobilize medical students to engage with scientific topics related to health
- Facilitate the exchange of ideas and scientific knowledge in an intercultural environment among medical students globally
- Promote the outward orientation of medical students in Greece by representing them in IFMSA and EMSA
- Empower, educate, and develop medical students nationally by coordinating the activities and operations of local member committees
- Approach health issues holistically, respecting human rights
Our Members
Are you a medical student? Do you study in Greece? Then you are already a HelMSIC mebmer!
HelMSIC is an organization by medical students for medical students, entirely based on volunteerism. Every medical student attending one of the seven Medical Schools in Greece is a member of HelMSIC. No registration is required, and there is no participation fee. You only need to visit the HelMSIC office at your Local Committee!
Additionally, HelMSIC maintains the Alumni Network, which includes former active members who keep their connection with the organization and support it with their knowledge and experience.
Finally, HelMSIC has designated honorary members, individuals who have contributed to achieving the organization’s goals or have done significant social work in the field of Health.
Local Committees are the local groups of HelMSIC in each city with a Medical School in Greece. Any individual studying at a Medical School in the country can be a member of a Local Committee, as long as they wish to actively participate.
HelMSIC’s National Team is responsible for the operation, empowerment, and development of HelMSIC. It consists of 15 members from all the local committees of HelMSIC who are elected to coordinate the activities and operations of HelMSIC. The National Team includes the Executive Board of the organization and the National Coordinators of the 6 Standing Committees.
